Arson Investigations

Duties of the Fire Marshall:

1. Investigates all fires and explosions that occur in the
iiiiiiCity of Scranton.

2. Where a fire is ruled arson, the Fire marshal, and is assisted in criminal investigations by the City fire inspectors, conducts the entire criminal investigation.

3. The Scranton Police Fire Marshall is also a member of the
iiiiiidepartment's bomb unit. He works as an assistant to the bomb
iiiiiitechnician and as a post blast investigator.

4. He also assists in fire prevention and safety education.
