The Scranton Police, Child Victim Unit, is responsible for the investigation of crimes committed against children under 18 years
of age, where the offender is an adult. The child victim unit was created in April of 2005 by the Scranton Police Department, in conjunction with the Lackawanna County District Attorney’s office,
as a result of the necessity of a specialized unit dedicated to the investigations of these sensitive type crimes. The united
encompasses specialized training and techniques for the
investigation of these crimes.
