The two officers have more than thirty years combined experience in law enforcement. They have received training in crisis and hostage negotiations from the Pennsylvania State Police CERT team, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Bureau of Prisons, the Federal Bureau of Investigation Hostage Negotiation Unit, and the Tactical Officers Association. Both negotiators have met and worked with crisis and hostage negotiators from throughout the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Israel, Sweden, and Scotland.
The Scranton Police Department Crisis and Hostage Team is experienced and prepared to respond to any situation which involves a single individual who is distressed and in a crisis situation or an incident which one or more people find themselves in a hostage situation.
