Mission:
The mission of the Street Crimes Unit is to detect and address persons involved in criminal activity. The SCU are tasked with conducting street level narcotic investigations, anti-gang operations, illegal possession, purchase or transfer of firearms, fugitive apprehension and conducting anti-crime operations within the City of Scranton.
Composition / Scope:
The SCU is comprised of dedicated, hardworking, and highly trained officers who possess the ability to adapt to the ever-changing atmosphere and mode of operations of criminal elements within the city. The officers utilize a variety of methods including criminal interdiction, intelligence-based policing, short term investigations and taking an all-crimes approach to reduce crime and improve the quality of life for the citizens of Scranton.
