Scranton Sets 2024 Public Pool Hours

May 31, 2024

Following the successful opening of the Novembrino Park splash pad this weekend, the City of Scranton has announced additional pool openings and expanded hours for the summer of 2024

“We’re looking forward to a great summer of recreation for Scranton families,” Mayor Paige G. Cognetti said. “We are investing in and reinventing many of our parks and pools, and we look forward to a productive summer working on Weston Field, Connell Park, and the Nay Aug pool complex.”

Both the splash pad at Novembrino Park, 200 10th Ave., and the outdoor pool at Weston Park, 100 Spring St., will be open Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m as well as Friday, June 14, from 3 to 7 p.m. for families to celebrate the end of the school year in Scranton. Beginning Saturday, June 15, they will open seven days per week, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Outdoor pools at Connell Park and Weston Field are closed for renovations. To accommodate residents in lieu of these closures, the City is extending public indoor pool hours at Weston Field House, 982 Providence Rd., Scranton. Beginning Monday, June 17, adult swim hours will continue Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by public hours from 1 to 5 p.m. Weston Field House is closed on weekends.

Multiple park and pool renovation projects beginning in 2024 should be completed by 2025. Those projects include the City’s second splash pad at Capouse Park, 1300 Capouse Ave., renovated pools at Connell Park, 800 Gibbons St., and Weston Field. Work on a brand-new water complex at Nay Aug Park, 500 Arthur Ave., will likely begin in late 2024 and continue into 2026.
