The Department of Public Works has a multifaceted set of responsibilities that span all four seasons. Comprising the Highway, Refuse, Recycling, Engineering, Traffic Maintenance, and Fleet Maintenance Divisions, the Department is in charge of managing the collection of all refuse and recycling materials

Observed Holidays

The Department of Public Works observes the following holidays:

  • New Year’s Day
  • Martin Luther King Day
  • Juneteenth
  • Easter Monday
  • Veteran’s Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Independence Day
  • Christmas Day
  • Labor Day
  • Columbus Day

If a holiday falls on a weekday, all collections for refuse and recycling will be delayed by ONE (1) day.
