Join us for the Lackawanna Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Event on November 10th & 11th at PNC Field. Lackawanna County residents can responsibly dispose of hazardous waste by pre-registering and selecting a time slot. Please note that unregistered drop-offs and business disposals are not permitted. The Scranton Running Company will be holding it's annual Run Against Hunger 5k/10k race and 2 mile fun walk on the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail starting and ending at the Scranton Half Marathon pavilion.

This parade ushers in the holiday season to Downtown Scranton every year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. The parade includes balloons, floats, bands, and many walking units. The parade ends with a visit from Santa Claus.

Friends of the Poor is proud to once again announce three community-based programs to help those in need this Thanksgiving. The Thanksgiving Dinner for Adults and Elderly, the Family-to-Family Thanksgiving Food Basket Program, and the Interfaith Prayer Service. In light of the current pandemic, the dinner and food basket program will be drive-through once again.
