The Turkey Trot 5/10k will be the 15th annual race in Scranton. This race is a partnership between Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine and Friends of the Poor - Scranton, which provides food, housing, clothing, and more to those in need within the NEPA region.
Free College Application process workshops, in English and Spanish, for 12th graders (and their parents). They will be at 4:30 PM in Room 211 at the Liberal Arts Center (LAC) at Marywood University.
The Zoning Hearing Board will be held at 6:00 pm in the Council Chambers.
Join us for the Lackawanna Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Event on November 10th & 11th at PNC Field. This parade ushers in the holiday season to Downtown Scranton every year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. The parade includes balloons, floats, bands, and many walking units. The parade ends with a visit from Santa Claus.

Friends of the Poor is proud to once again announce three community-based programs to help those in need this Thanksgiving. The Thanksgiving Dinner for Adults and Elderly, the Family-to-Family Thanksgiving Food Basket Program, and the Interfaith Prayer Service. In light of the current pandemic, the dinner and food basket program will be drive-through once again.
