NEWS FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SCRANTON, PA –Earlier today Governor Wolf announced that his administration is lifting COVID-19 mitigation orders, except for masking, at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, May 31. The following reopening information pertains to city properties Weston Field and City Hall.

Weston Field Reopening – Wednesday, May 5

Weston Field, located at 928 Providence Road in Scranton, is reopening on Wednesday, May 5. Swimming, boxing and basketball will be open to the public with COVID-19 mitigation regulations set in place and reservations are required.

Regular hours of operation (later afternoon/evening hours) will commence in June.

City outdoor pools are being prepared for summer swim season. More information will be released in the coming weeks.

Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, closed Saturday and Sunday

            Swimming Pool Hours: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 8:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.  

            Boxing Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

            Basketball Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

City Hall Reopening – Tuesday, June 1

City Hall will remain accessible by appointment through May and will fully reopen on Tuesday, June 1. City Council will begin in-person meetings on Tuesday, June 1.

Boards, Commissions and Authorities meetings may begin in-person meetings in June as well.
