City of Scranton Opens Community Center Grant Applications Through April 22

The City of Scranton is announcing a total of $25,000 in grants available to nonprofit community centers located within the City. Applications are due by Monday, April 22, 2024. Groups can apply online through OpenGov at https://bit.ly/scrantoncommunity2024.

 “A vibrant community center can serve as an anchor in a neighborhood,” said Mayor Paige G. Cognetti. “These grants can help these centers be more sustainable and make needed upgrades to continue to serve our residents.”

Grants are available for community centers to seek financial assistance, build greater capacity, and upgrade their facilities.

Applicants must be a 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(23). Groups will also need to demonstrate financial management and programmatic expertise, along with documenting all service or program expenses. Programs may be funded in part or in full based on available funds. All funds must be used by December 31, 2024.
