Application period is open from July 18 to August 12, 2022
SCRANTON, Pa. – The City of Scranton will accept grant applications from non-profit organizations that have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic from July 18 to August 12, 2022. This initial round of grants is available as a portion of the City’s total $68.7 million in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding.
“Non-profit organizations provide often critical services for our residents, but many were not ready to face the impact of COVID-19,” said Mayor Paige G. Cognetti. “The City is prepared to help provide additional stability to these groups so that they can continue to aid our friends and neighbors.”
Non-profits can access the grant application at www.safdn.org/grants.
Grant funding may be used to support eligible non-profits still navigating financial hardships including, but not limited to:
- Decreased revenue
- Financial insecurity
- Capacity to withstand future financial hardship
- Increased costs including mortgage, rent, utilities, COVID mitigation efforts, and cleaning
- Additional development including website, technology, and marketing
Grants of up to $50,000 per organization will be awarded following the August 12 deadline, with a total of $1 million allocated for non-profits located in or serving the residents of Scranton. Funding is not first-come, first-served, but groups are encouraged to begin their applications early.
