Canine Unit

Our K9’s are a valuable asset to the department. The Scranton Police Department currently has three K9 Officers assigned to the K9 Unit with a 4th planned for the near future.

The K9 unit is also available to work with our Crime Prevention Unit and participates in presentations in schools and special events.

• Explosive detection along with patrol work (searches)
