SCRANTON, PA – Scranton Mayor Paige G. Cognetti announced today that her office has launched an online portal to collect accounts of how a potential federal funding freeze would impact Scranton residents and organizations.
“We’re hearing from residents, non-profits and service agencies that the various memos and directives coming from the federal government are confusing and deeply concerning,” Mayor Cognetti said. “While the latest Office of Management and Budget (OMB) memo seems to have rescinded the freeze for now, we anticipate other changes could follow. We want to capture the impact these could have on our community so we can effectively advocate as the situation evolves.”
