Storm Recovery Outreach Events for September 14th and 15th

Mayor Paige G. Cognetti and the City of Scranton will host two Storm Recovery Outreach Events to assist residents and businesses that have faced damages and losses from the September 9th storm. City officials will support impacted residents in reporting damages and will provide recovery resources, answer questions, and collect ideas for further assistance.

Storm Recovery Outreach Event Details:

  • Thursday, September 14th
    • 1:00PM – 5:00PM at Novembrino Splash Pad, 201 South 10th Avenue, Scranton, PA 18504
  • Friday, September 15th
    • 10:00AM – 2:00PM at Holy Rosary Center, 316 W Market St., Scranton, PA 18508

Resources for impacted residents will include:

  • Clean-up supplies and tools from NeighborWorks and Lackawanna Heritage Valley
  • Wi-Fi and laptops to report damages via PEMA’s Public Damage Assessment Link
  • Food vouchers and meals from local restaurants, including McDonald’s, GoodfellasPizza, and Cooper’s Seafood
  • Emergency housing information from United Neighborhood Centers of NEPA
  • Temporary housing information and resources from the Scranton Housing Authority

The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) has launched a Public Damage Assessment Link for area residents and businesses to report the damage done to their properties.

The link will be open from today through September 24. Lackawanna County’s EMA will also host a Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) at the end of next week.

Impacted residents and businesses can obtain information on available programs, learn next steps for repair and cleanup work, and connect with resources and personnel that can help.
