City of Scranton Seeking Solicitors for Boards, Commissions, Councils, and Authorities

February 28, 2023

The City of Scranton maintains a number of volunteer boards, commissions, councils, and authorities that require the services of a licensed attorney.

From time to time, new opportunities arise, such as when a position becomes vacant or the City creates a new board. The City is hereby making an open call to all attorneys interested in serving as a solicitor to a City board, commission, council, or authority.

Duties vary by board, but board solicitors are commonly responsible for legal services related to the Sunshine Act, Right-To-Know, ethics, procurement, due process, code enforcement, loans, and real estate.

The City’s standard hourly rate for board solicitors is $95 per hour.

More information on the City’s boards, commissions, councils, and authorities is available at https://scrantonpa.gov/your-government/boards-authorities/

Interested attorneys should submit a resume and a statement of interest by 5:00pm on Friday, March 24, 2023 to Brittani Hamer, Coordinator for Boards, Commissions, and Authorities, at bhamer@scrantonpa.gov.

Resumes and statements of interest will be compiled and shared with the boards, commissions, councils, and authorities for review as needed.

Thank you for your interest in serving the City of Scranton and your community!
